How Can I Protect Myself and My Funds?
« on: August 28, 2016, 12:17:07 PM »
Cybersecurity and data security are at the forefront of high level talks and decisions for good reason. Cyber criminals are an intelligent, motivated and a real threat in the world. There are many simple steps you can take to drastically increase your security:
  • Treat all username and login information as you would banking information.
  • Be suspicious of offers that seem too good to be true.
  • When a person or company you think you know is asking for sensitive information, take extra precaution.
  • Do not store usernames or passwords on shared machines or folders.
  • Consider using open-source encryption software to safeguard your digital documents.
  • Keep virus definitions up-to-date and do not download suspicious programs.
  • Back up and encrypt your wallet for storage to an OFFLINE device - update this backup periodically.
